The ‘kitchen table work’ ends and |

Carl Bro sets up in three small leased rooms in Holbergsgade. The first full-time employee begins work, and the company is founded. |

The company purchases a disused maternity home in Glostrup |

and moves in with 35 employees. Beds are replaced with desks, and the delivery room becomes a canteen. FDB and Andelsbevægelsen via the architect’s office are the firm’s largest, and pretty much only, customer. The Jutland office in Århus opens. |

The company enters into a partnership with the English |

consultancy engineering company Rougton & Partners for joint operation of their East Africa offices. |

Flexitime is introduced, creating a |

One of our assignments is planning and inspection for |

construction of a holiday village for 26,000 inhabitants on the Caspian Sea. |

The company now has 125 shareholders and 500 employees. |

Carl Bro Gruppen becomes the first player in the industry to be awarded the King Frederik 9th Medal for meritorious contribution to Danish export. |
| 1983: |
Carl Bro Gruppen’s subsidiaries in the Copenhagen area are |

brought together in the current premises in Granskoven. |
| 1985: |
The company hands over Maribo Rådhus, HT’s office in |
|
Toftegårds Plads and starts pollution surveys in the Østre Gasværk area. |
| 1986: |
Carl Bro retires as managing director, but continues as |

chairman of the board. There are now 770 employees. The company opens a office in Nuuk, Greenland. |
| 1987: |
The company now has 960 employees. The company takes |

over Bayer & Aagaard Aps and Nordisk Material Kontrol A/S. |
| 1988: |
Carl Bro Group Limited is formed, with its head office in |

1990 - 2008
| 1990: |
Carl Bro Gruppen takes over a number of companies and now has |

Carl Bro Gruppen’s business concept and basic values are introduced. |

Carl Bro Gruppen’s intranet is established, and all employees |

are given a PC workstation. The company gains a new board/management, and the numerous companies are merged into one large company with a common name and logo. |
| 1997: |
The ‘Intelligent Solutions’ brand is introduced. |
| 1998: |
The first Knowledge Accounts are published. |
| 2001: |
The company’s new majority shareholder, Bure Equity, is Swedish. |
| 2002: |
The company merges with Sycon, Sweden, and now has 3000 |

employees. |
| 2003: |
Carl Bro Gruppen gets a new Mission, Vision and Values. The |

structure of Carl Bro Gruppen is simplified. Focus is on the company’s core business, and all activities outside the core business are wound up. The number of employees is reduced to 2500. |
| 2004: |
Noteworthy assignments include: Copenhagen Central Railway |
|
Station, DR BYEN, Citybanan in Stockholm and 5-year contracts with huge water utilities in the UK/Ireland. |
| 2006: |
Carl Bro Gruppen is purchased by the Dutch company |
|
Grontmij and becomes part of Europe’s fifth-largest consultancy engineering company. The company now has 7,000 employees. |
| 2007: |
Carl Bro Gruppen changes its name to Grontmij | Carl Bro to |

mark the change of ownership. |
| 2011: |
Grontmij | Carl Bro changes its name to Grontmij A/S |
